Skiing under the big sky in Montana offers some of the best runs around with impressive vertical drops and no lines.
You want remote? You want untouched? Imagine extreme skiing and snow boarding in the heart of the wilderness, surrounded by nothing but snow-capped peaks and pines. Then call us.
We'll take you on a 4-wheel drive through the beautiful Boulder Valley, along a narrow corridor that penetrates the Absaroka-Beartooth wilderness. At the end of the road, we'll trade in the 4-wheel drive for a Snowcat and head to the top of Independence Mountain (elevation 10,236 feet) or Baboon Mountain (elevation 10,236 feet).
From there, you and your guides are free to roam, with several pristine downhill routes to choose from. While you push the powder, the Snowcat heads back down the hill to pick you up at the bottom for another run.
Depending on the route you choose, a run from the peak to the valley floor may drop over 3000 vertical feet. Competent skiers may make up to 4 runs in a day. That’s over 12,000 vertical feet.
Think of this like heli-skiing, but at a fraction of the cost and without the unpredictable weather factor that often precludes a successful heli-skiing tour.
For the intermediate skier, there are plenty of suitable downhill options. Your guide will steer you in the right direction for a wilderness ski experience that put you on the edge but keeps you in your comfort zone..
We welcome anyone who wants to come along.
Ride to the top of the peak in the Snowcat, then ride back down. Or join your guide behind a dogsled and find your way to the bottom trailing a team of eager sleddogs.
Invest in an unforgettable Snowcat wilderness experience. (Daily and overnight rates for nonskiers are the same as rates for skiers.)
