Pronghorn antelope are plentiful in south-central Montana. They graze in herds (single sex in the spring and summer, mixed in the fall and winter), drifting across vast grasslands and rolling hills dotted with sagebrush..
Built to evade predators through speed, pronghorn antelope top out around 50 mph. Although exceptionally fast runners, pronghorn antelope are very poor jumpers. Ranch fences often limit their movement, but antelope will pass underneath fences rather than jump over them, sometimes at high speed.
Our hunting areas are both north and south of the Yellowstone River, mostly on private ranches around Big Timber, Montana. We hunt the same areas during both archery and rifle season, using 4-wheel-drive vehicles to spot the herds. Antelope are typically taken from blinds or by using decoys during archery season and by spot-and-stalk for rifle.
Antelope hunts with Rollin’ Boulder Outfitters are normally 100% successful. You can expect to see 14- to 15-inch horns most days of your hunt. A chance for a 16-inch animal is not uncommon. Most pronghorn antelope have heavy, thick horns, and their large prongs make them excellent trophies.
Antelope HuntsThe new antelope 900 hunt is is a multi-region archery-only hunt for either sex. Archers who secure this license can only hunt antelope with archery equipment for the entire fall hunting season (mid-August through early November).

This semiguided ranch hunt offers a chance at bucks in the rut. We hunt over waterholes in blinds or set up decoys for rutting bucks.
General antelope season begins the day after archery season closes. During this 4-week period from mid-October to early November, hunters may hunt with a rifle, shotgun, muzzleloader, traditional handgun, crossbow, or
archery equipment. This fully guided ranch hunt uses 4-wheel drives and is a spot-and-stalk type of hunt.
